Unlike many digital photographs, every JGomez art piece is guaranteed to be unique by his multi-step artistic process. This ensures the highest quality, value, and life of each piece.
Every image represents days, weeks, and sometimes months of preparation. JGomez works closely and personally with each subject to talk about concepts and approaches to create multiple usable pieces in a session. JGomez hand-selects each subject based on a number of factors that guarantee consistency in his work.
JGomez creates most of his pieces in his Tampa studio. Each session is about finding the right emotion and expression for the photographic concept. About 50% of his sessions are nudes, allowing for beautiful reflect of light, high levels of contrast, and beautiful human shapes. Facial expressions and conscious control of extremities are a point of focus throughout the session as JGomez interacts. He shoots with a fixed lens to force himself to move around and respond to the subject's movements. He calls that "dancing" with the subject, and it is one of his favorite things about creating art.
JGomez pieces are high resolution giclee prints on Epson Velvet fine art paper. The paper is acid free, 100% cotton rag for archival preservation, bright white for excellent tone production, and the highest D-Max of all Epson cotton papers.
Every JGomez piece is personally signed by JGomez himself. The print date and title is hand-written to ensure authenticity.
This is unique to JGomez art prints. A unique digitally-generated identifiers generated at the moment each print is issued guaranteed unique and authentic. GUIDs are generated random numbers containing 6 fixed bits and 122 random bits, making the total number of possibilities 2122. These numbers are so hard to duplicate that the probability of someone generating the number would be about 50% if every person on earth generated 600 million of them. The GUID is generated, hand-written on the print, and recorded in a journal JGomez calls "Histories".
Every JGomez art piece is printed on an uncut, oversized sheet allowing for the placement of an embossed artist mark on both the print and the mat within the frame. This embossed mark is unique to JGomez, once again ensuring the authenticity of the print.
Unique to the JGomez process, every print is retouched from the original RAW digital file every time a print is created. Since it is impossible to make the exact same adjustments to tone balance, skin smoothing, lighting, and image adjustments, every print is slightly different from every other print of the same piece. JGomez calls this step "burning the canvas", and guarantees total deletion of both the retouched Photoshop file and the export files that were used to create the print.
